Simplant

Whether performing regular cleanings or placing dental implants, at Northland Dental Medicine, we care about providing our patients with the best and most comfortable dental care we can. One of the ways we do this is by using state-of-the-art technology that enhances our procedures. One treatment technology we use is the Simplant system, an interactive, 3D system that determines the position of each dental implant with 100 percent accuracy. With this system, Dr. Michael Corsello is able to place each implant as precisely as possible, eliminating discomfort.

Simplant implant treatment planning software allows Dr. Corsello to access three-dimensional information that helps him coordinate every aspect of implant placement and care. By obtaining accurate information on the width and density of your jawbone, the exact location of neighboring tooth roots and the location of the nerves with Simplant, the dentist can ensure the procedure is more comfortable and more effective at restoring your smile and retaining your oral health.

With the precise information provided by the Simplant system, Dr. Corsello is able to plan the ideal location for your dental implants and achieve the best outcome. He will also be able to show you exactly how your new teeth will look before treatment even begins.

Dental Implants

If you have a missing tooth, you know how it can affect your self-esteem. Smiling with a gap between your teeth can make you feel self-conscious and may make you reluctant to smile. But missing teeth can also interfere with chewing and speaking properly. A missing tooth or teeth can also change your bite, which may put additional pressure on other teeth.

At Northland Dental Medicine, Dr. Michael Corsello, offers options when it comes to replacing missing teeth, such as dental implants. Dental implants are a permanent solution used in order to replace the function and appearance of a missing tooth.

A dental implant involves a few steps including surgically placing the implants into the jawbone. The implant fuses to the bone and creates a strong foundation for the prosthetic tooth. A post is then attached to the implant, which will hold a crown. Crowns are matched to the size, shape and color of existing natural teeth. They are virtually indistinguishable from your other teeth.

Our team at Northland Dental Medicine is proud to offer the latest technology and innovations in dentistry. Your smile is one of the first things people notice about you. Our goal is to help you smile with confidence. We are happy to answer any of your questions and provide free consolations.

Bridges

Missing teeth are not only a cosmetic concern. They can also cause problems with chewing and speaking normally. In addition, if missing teeth are not replaced, your bite may be affected. A dental bridge is one option in order to replace missing teeth and restore your smile.

Dr. Michael Corsello at Northland Dental Medicine is experienced at various types of restorative, cosmetic and reconstructive dental medicine including bridges. A bridge involves using a crown to replace the function and appearance of your natural tooth. The crown is held in place by a dental bridge, which is attached to natural teeth, or implants on adjacent sides of the crown.
Bridges are often made of titanium and other metals, which makes them strong and durable. The crown shape and color are matched to your surrounding teeth, which makes the bridge blend in with your natural teeth. A dental bridge is made to look and function similar to your natural teeth.

At Northland Dental Medicine, we offer a variety of dental services including cosmetic, reconstructive and restorative services. Our experienced team prides themselves with providing personalized care using the latest technology.

Implant Supported Dentures

Implant Supported Dentures

Having multiple missing teeth makes it difficult to chew properly, not to mention enunciate words succinctly. Missing teeth can also have a negative impact on the mouth’s structure. Dentures help replace missing teeth, let patients continue eating as they normally would and allow them to smile confidently. Unfortunately, traditional dentures may shift or move while talking or eating, which is why we offer implant-supported dentures. Patients who visit us in Pittsburgh, PA often choose to get our implant-supported dentures, called SnapTite Dentures.

SnapTite are dentures that are secured to the gums with multiple titanium post implants. The process of getting SnapTite implant-supported dentures begins with the patient visiting our office and having titanium posts implanted into their jaw bone. For each row of dentures, four implants are placed. This helps keep the dentures secure on the posts when they are worn. After the implants are healed, the dentures are fabricated and Dr. Michael Corsello shows the patient how to snap them in. That’s all there is to it!

Implant-supported dentures snap in and come out easily, though they are secure once they are snapped in. We recommend patients remove the dentures daily for proper cleaning and maintenance. They are an excellent alternative to traditional dentures or implants with crowns. Call us today at 412-367-7400 to find out more about our SnapTite implant-supported dentures.
