CT Scanner

CT Scanner

Here at our Pittsburgh, PA dental practice, Dr. Michael Corsello and the rest of our team use advanced technologies for implant procedures and other treatments. This includes the use of a CT scanner.

The CT scanner is a dental scanner that can take 3D computed tomography (CT) images in a short period of time. It has a very high accuracy and speed rate, making the imaging process easier for our dentist and patient. We use the CT scanner for a comprehensive diagnosis and course of treatment, especially when we will be performing surgery, such as implants.

The CT scanner helps us capture more accurate and high-definition images by doing the following:

1) Taking images from multiple angles by using a rotating motion. The images are put together automatically by the computer system, offering Dr. Corsello two-dimensional images.

2) Requiring our patients to be in the chair for a few minutes to take the pictures.

3) Showing our dentist two dimensional and 3D X-ray images for the best results following the recommended procedure.

4) Enabling communication between the patient and our X-ray technician throughout the scan.

With CT scanner technology, patients are getting digital images with about 1/3 less the radiation exposure of traditional x-rays. Visit our website for more information about the CT scanner.
