CT Scanner

CT Scanner

Here at our Pittsburgh, PA dental practice, Dr. Michael Corsello and the rest of our team use advanced technologies for implant procedures and other treatments. This includes the use of a CT scanner.

The CT scanner is a dental scanner that can take 3D computed tomography (CT) images in a short period of time. It has a very high accuracy and speed rate, making the imaging process easier for our dentist and patient. We use the CT scanner for a comprehensive diagnosis and course of treatment, especially when we will be performing surgery, such as implants.

The CT scanner helps us capture more accurate and high-definition images by doing the following:

1) Taking images from multiple angles by using a rotating motion. The images are put together automatically by the computer system, offering Dr. Corsello two-dimensional images.

2) Requiring our patients to be in the chair for a few minutes to take the pictures.

3) Showing our dentist two dimensional and 3D X-ray images for the best results following the recommended procedure.

4) Enabling communication between the patient and our X-ray technician throughout the scan.

With CT scanner technology, patients are getting digital images with about 1/3 less the radiation exposure of traditional x-rays. Visit our website for more information about the CT scanner.

Crowns

Crowns

Dr. Michael Corsello provides a wide range of cosmetic and corrective dentistry procedures, including dental crowns. Crowns are available in different types of materials and act as a cap to be bonded over the tooth. The crown’s purpose is to protect and restore the tooth, whether to improve its appearance or keep it from breaking following a root canal or other procedure. Pittsburgh, PA patients often visit our dental office to get crowns and strengthen their teeth.

Here at our McKnight Rd. dental practice, our patients get crowns for multiple reasons. They may need to restore a tooth that is worn down or broken, protect a tooth that is weakened and susceptible to cracking, support a filling that is taking up much of the natural tooth, hold a bridge in place that is replacing a missing tooth, cover a dental implant, or simply for cosmetic purposes, such as covering a discolored or misshapen tooth.

Crowns aren’t just for adults either. Crowns can also be placed over “baby teeth” if they are decayed but not strong enough for a traditional filling. Patients in the Pittsburgh, PA area are invited to our practice to find out more about crowns.

VIP Amenities: Heated Massage Chairs

VIP Amenities: Heated Massage Chairs

Our dental practice provides more than just important, high-quality general and cosmetic dental procedures.  We make dental visits as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Dr. Michael Corsello offers VIP amenities to his patients, including massage chairs that are heated.

Our heated massage chairs makes patients feel like a VIP that they are, and help the patient feel as relaxed as possible while in the dentist chair. Going to the dentist can be nerve-wracking for anyone and we have seen many benefits to patients who use the massage chairs during their appointments.

Our massage chairs provide a gentle massage to the patient’s back, as well as providing soothing massage on other parts of the body, including the calf, foot and neck. Because they are heated, they are a nice treat when going to the dentist in the cold Pittsburgh, PA winter. They also feel good if chilled from air conditioning.

Here are some benefits our dental patients love about our heated massage chairs:

  • Makes a nervous patient feel at ease.

  • Helps the patient forget about the procedure being performed.

  • Provides full body relaxation during the dental visit.

  • Improves the immune system to improve the success of the procedure.

  • Improves blood circulation.

  • Reduces anxiety during the dental visit.

Heated massage chairs are an amenity we offer that not only helps the patient during their dental visit, but provides overall improved health and circulation. Be sure to ask us about our heated massage chairs when you come in for a visit.
