Mini Implants

Dental implants are often a great choice in order to replace missing teeth. But at Northland Dental Medicine, Dr. Michael Corsello also offers additional options including mini implants. The mini implant is used to provide denture stability.

The procedure involves having a number of mini implants placed on the gum line. Because the implants are small, an incision in the gum line is usually not needed. Once the mini implants are inserted, the dentures are snapped on and are held securely in place. The mini implant becomes a base for the dentures. Mini implants can be used on both lower and upper dentures.
There are several benefits to having mini implants including the following:
  • Quick and Easy: The procedure is less complicated than getting traditional implants and is usually completed in one office visit.
  • Less Cost: Mini implants are often less expensive than having multiple traditional implants placed.
  • Decreased denture movement: Using mini implants also decreases denture movement, which means you won’t have to deal with loose fitting dentures.
Mini implants are not appropriate in every situation. At Northland Dental Medicine, we would be happy to provide you with a free consultation in order to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure.

Dental Implants

If you have a missing tooth, you know how it can affect your self-esteem. Smiling with a gap between your teeth can make you feel self-conscious and may make you reluctant to smile. But missing teeth can also interfere with chewing and speaking properly. A missing tooth or teeth can also change your bite, which may put additional pressure on other teeth.

At Northland Dental Medicine, Dr. Michael Corsello, offers options when it comes to replacing missing teeth, such as dental implants. Dental implants are a permanent solution used in order to replace the function and appearance of a missing tooth.

A dental implant involves a few steps including surgically placing the implants into the jawbone. The implant fuses to the bone and creates a strong foundation for the prosthetic tooth. A post is then attached to the implant, which will hold a crown. Crowns are matched to the size, shape and color of existing natural teeth. They are virtually indistinguishable from your other teeth.

Our team at Northland Dental Medicine is proud to offer the latest technology and innovations in dentistry. Your smile is one of the first things people notice about you. Our goal is to help you smile with confidence. We are happy to answer any of your questions and provide free consolations.

Screw Retained Dentures

Dentures may be a great solution in order to restore your smile and also the function of your teeth. But problems with dentures can occur. Even the best adhesive cannot always hold dentures in place. Slipping and sliding are often a common problem for denture wearers. At Northland Dental Medicine, we offer solutions for people who wear dentures including screw retained dentures.
Screw retained dentures are a permanent method used to hold dentures in place. Titanium implants are inserted into the gum line, which serve as an anchor for the dentures. The number of implants needed will vary, but often dentures may be supported with four implants.

If you are looking for a permanent solution for ill-fitting and moving dentures, screw retained dentures provide support and stability. Since dentures fit better, the function of your dentures is also improved. That means you can smile, eat and talk with confidence.

In addition to screw retained dentures, we also offer mini implants in order to secure your dentures. Dr. Michael Corsello will be happy to provide you with a free consultation in order to help you decide which type of dental implant or dentures would work best.

Bridges

Missing teeth are not only a cosmetic concern. They can also cause problems with chewing and speaking normally. In addition, if missing teeth are not replaced, your bite may be affected. A dental bridge is one option in order to replace missing teeth and restore your smile.

Dr. Michael Corsello at Northland Dental Medicine is experienced at various types of restorative, cosmetic and reconstructive dental medicine including bridges. A bridge involves using a crown to replace the function and appearance of your natural tooth. The crown is held in place by a dental bridge, which is attached to natural teeth, or implants on adjacent sides of the crown.
Bridges are often made of titanium and other metals, which makes them strong and durable. The crown shape and color are matched to your surrounding teeth, which makes the bridge blend in with your natural teeth. A dental bridge is made to look and function similar to your natural teeth.

At Northland Dental Medicine, we offer a variety of dental services including cosmetic, reconstructive and restorative services. Our experienced team prides themselves with providing personalized care using the latest technology.
